Business-Education Partnerships Toolkit

The Issue

  • We need students to graduate with a skill set that matches the needs of the evolving workforce.
  • Students need relevant, effective guidance to help them make well informed education  and career choices.
Business and education must collaborate to find creative ways to help students achieve their full potential in a globally connected world.

The Solution

Business-Education Partnerships Educators and business leaders share the common goal of wanting to see excellence in student achievement as this forms the foundation for Canada’s future prosperity. By partnering, schools and businesses can achieve more together than they can on their own.

Students are saying

"We need better guidance, information and workplace experiential learning about the world of work."

Educators are saying

"We see the benefits of partnerships with business/employers to help prepare our students for success in their life and work."

Businesses are saying

"We want to help, we’re ready to help, tell us how."

At The Learning Partnership we strive to close the gap between education and business. Our studies show that students want to acquire more relevant skills that will help them succeed in the world of work. Business leaders know exactly what skills they will need for their future, however they need the educators to develop and nurture those skills porperly.

Business leaders and educators understand that they are key stakeholders in ensuring that our students are well prepared to embrace the challenges of a complex global economy.  The Learning Partnership encourages them to work collaboratively in order to help students achieve more projects and develop skills. Strong partnerships will also result into stronger communities.

About The Learning Partnership

The Learning Partnership is a national charity dedicated to building stakeholder partnerships to support, promote and advance publicly funded education in Canada. We do this through five key deliverables - innovative student programs, executive leadership for educators, knowledge mobilization and policy, tribute celebrations of excellence and ongoing collaborations across Canada. Since 1993, more than 5.7 million students have participated in The Learning Partnership's programs.

  • The Learning Partnership is the largest national organization that supports public education
  • No other organization in Canada collaborates with as many partners to create positive outcomes of publicly funded education
  • Every year, more than 400,000 students and 18,000 educators across Canada participate in our programs
